Contingency

Every home needs a set of contingency plans for emergencies. Right now, all across our area, people are making contingency plans related to weather. Check the grocery stores later and you’ll see the effect! I come from a family who was deeply involved in every decision about school closings and ice storms. So, when that role fell to me, I learned to recognize the cars of school officials here as we all drove the roads in the early darkness to make a final decision. (And yes, I had some of their cell numbers and called so we could commiserate!)

So, we are preparing recorded services so we can provide online services on Sunday if the weather forecast is as dire as they’re predicting. Obviously, we want everyone to be safe, and since all of our parking entrances are sloped, ice is an enemy of safety.

We will be making a call on Saturday afternoon — weather predictions are always educated guesses, but the weather doesn’t always align with them. If we can, we certainly want our family to gather in worship. But if conditions are unsafe, we will shift to online worship, and we hope you’ll join us.

Look for our announcement on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 pm.
