Ready, Set, Move
If you have been on our campus any night this week, you would have seen over 700 kids and leaders finding out what it means to be on a Journey with Jesus by being ready to move! It is an incredible site to see our building filled with families, laughter, and incredible worship being shouted by our kids. There is so much that goes into this week to make it happen and we cannot say enough great things about the many students and adults who work so hard to teach our kids about Jesus.
“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
– Deuteronomy 6:4-9
While this passage was an instruction to parents and families, it also is a directive for the church family. We are responsible for doing all we can to ensure the next generation is equipped to live out the Great Commission in their lives and for our world. It is incredible to be a part of a church family that has, for generations, sacrificed their time and resources and has prayed to make sure our children can know how much God loves them and has an incredible purpose for their lives.
What role do you carry out or want to carry out in ensuring we are investing in the current and future church? Take some time this week and pray for God to show you how He has gifted you and passioned you to be a part of what He will do through our church family in the lives of our community and its children. Well done FBC Midlothian! You are doing great things for the Kingdom of God today that will bear fruit for generations to come!
